Vacancy Details for UNODC Job Circular 2024:
- An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, international law, criminology, criminal investigations, police studies or related fields is required.
- A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience
- A minimum of five years of relevant progressively responsible work experience in law enforcement, crime investigation and investigation management are required.
- Work experience with focus on counter-narcotics or transnational organized crime, with good exposure to related prosecution, judiciary, crime prevention and criminal justice matters is required.
- Work experience in technical assistance activities, including project management, and experience in policy and programme advising in counternarcotics is required.
- Work experience at the national and/or international levels with a focus on law enforcement is required.
- Experience working with the United Nations or similar international organization is desirable.
- Work experience in organizing international police cooperation activities is desirable.
- First-hand work experience in designing cooperation programmes and dialogue with cooperation partners is desirable.
- Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position fluency in English, i.e. oral and written proficiency, is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
